“ I absolutely loved this place. The views are amazing and the food is equally good. I had herb-crusted salmon with asparagus and an amazing sauce. The she crab soup was tasty as well!! I highly recommend if you're in the area. ”
“ I wa very pleased with Caps. It was beautifully placed on the water with a beautiful view. We went right around Sunset and only had to wait about 10 minutes. Our server Sierra was very nice and fun to have. The food was excellent. I ordered the pasta and a painkiller cocktail. Both were phenomenal. My only complaint would be that I added steak to my pasta and I was charged for the entire meal of the steak. So my pasta was nine dollars while The steak was 17. I do think that was a little outrageous considering I didn’t have all the benefits of the whole steak meal that you can order. Definitely not my servers fault, but rather just an annoying feature from the restaurant. But all worth it because it was delicious! ”
“ We had such a great dinner at Cap's two weeks ago, and I'm just now catching up to make a post. We love this place and don't get down here nearly enough. We arrived ahead of the rush just before 5pm on a Friday. They don't take reservations and it's valet parking only, so it's best to avoid prime time dining hours. We were seated right away with a great water view. Jacqueline was our server, delightful, great suggestions, and attentive without lurking too often. Our drinks were wonderful and ice cold! It's hard to ruin a great drink with a great view, but these were even a step up with generous pours and my martini was nice and strong! Jacqueline suggested the baked scallops special appetizer, they were supposed to be U10s and four of them, but they were definitely smaller so it was nice they had seven to make up for it. Nice touch being aware and thinking of the customer's value. Hubby got the special, the seabass manchego and he let me have a couple bites... WOW! The flavor profiles were just perfection! Absolutely devine! I had the sesame tuna because it's seriously the best anywhere around. It's impossible for me to not order it every time here, it's just that good! The fried spinach and plantains that accompany this delicious teriyaki seared tuna are the best combination ever! We followed it up with more drinks and the creme Brule, also an absolutely favorite and impossible to skip. Everything from the service, to the food, to the ambiance and view were just phenomenal! I've never been let down at Cap's and there's a reason the wait times get pretty rough... it's just a great place with the absolutely best Florida vibes. That's the Scoop! Cap's is fantastic and if you haven't been, you're missing out! ”
“ We celebrated our 25th anniversary at Cap’s and so enjoyed the evening. While we waited for a good table, we had a cocktail and oysters at bar. Nice, casual atmosphere. Once seated, we were more than pleased with the view and our meal. As with the bartender, our server was friendly and efficient. We both enjoyed our meals and desserts. Ate way too much! And of course, we couldn’t help but love the beautiful sunset. Would definitely return and recommend to others. ”
“ One of the most beautiful restaurants/places this Midwest girl has ever been. This place is big and every room looks beautifully designed and elegant. My favorite part was the trees hanging overhead, they added so much atmosphere, especially with the lights strung around them. The blackened market salmon was delicious. We were all raving about the She Crab Soup too. The cocktails were also all very cute. I'd come back to St. Augustine just so I can bring other people to this place. And waiter was a great sport when my friends bet him eat a spicy pepper My only negative was we did not get our check till after the place was closed, and we were waiting to catch our server to ask but he did not appear for a minute. But it was so lovely and delicious l don't even care. 10/10 ”
“ If you’re in the area, don’t forget this wonderful, rustic dining experience. The fabulous food, waitstaff, view and low key atmosphere will keep you coming back! The parking crew also deserves kudos for their wonderful welcome and efficiency. Can’t wait to go back! ”
“ We’ve stayed in Vilano Beach twice already but for some reason, it took us until now to try out Cap’s on the Water! Our vacation house was near this joint so we decided to walk over. Came at around 6:30 PM on a Monday and they were decently busy and we had to wait a minute for a table but not too long. The overall vibe is super nice and mostly all outdoors. Now, let me just say, our waiter was probably one of the BEST I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant. He was consistently coming to our table to check on us, gave a great rundown of the menu, and kept our drinks full. I unfortunately forgot his name but huge props to him! I started out with the fried fish nuggets as my appetizer and those were good! I then got the Lobster Ravioli as my entree for a change of pace. Overall, I was blown away! The sauce was rich and flavorful, the ravioli was phenomenal and cooked perfectly. All around a fantastic dish! Overall, if you’re staying in Vilano Beach looking for an outdoor spot, Cap’s gets a high recommendation from me! I’ll easily be back. ”
“ The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was excellent, and the breathtaking view made the whole experience even more special. I will definitely come back on my next visit — highly recommended! ”
